At Canis Major we like to keep our group classes small so that everyone gets a personalized experience and the attention they need in order to succeed with their canine companion. Some classes are ongoing, meaning you can join any week and don’t have to wait for a new cycle to begin, while others must be taken in order. Regardless of which level your dog is at, we’ll get you where you need to in a fun, safe environment.

Puppy
Overview
The goal of this course is to prevent unwanted behaviors, create a bond with your pup and introduce them to other dogs. Each class will cover two topics and at the end the dogs will have the opportunity to socialize. You will also have the chance to ask any questions relevant to the day’s session or any other subjects you wish to discuss.

- Age: For dogs 16 weeks or less the first day of classes
- Duration: 5 consecutive weeks, 1hr per class
- Schedule: Sundays 10:15-11:15
- Vaccines: Proof of first base vaccine dose and Bordetalla are required
- Materials needed: Collar or harness, leash (no retractable leashes please), and treats

Level 1
Overview
Missed the window to take puppy classes? Need a refresher for your teen who took puppy classes but is struggling? Or maybe your older dog needs to start with the basics around distractions like other dogs and humans. This class is for you then.

- Age: Dogs 5 months and older
- Duration: 5 consecutive weeks, 45min per class
- Schedule: Thursday 7pm-7:45 **Please note that there will not be any classes August 28**
- Vaccines: Proof of base vaccines and Bordetalla are required
- Materials needed: Collar or harness, leash (no retractable leashes please), treats, and clicker
- Other: No order to classes. Max 4 dogs.

Level 2
Overview
Congrats! Your dog knows how to sit, lie down, walk with a leash, and many other behaviours. However, they aren’t able to do them under all circumstances. That’s where this class can help you. The goal of this course is to bring your dog’s training to the next level.
Together we will help your dog accomplish everything you have worked so hard on with the 3Ds in mind: distraction, distance and duration. In other words, you will learn how to help your dog around distractions (ie people, other dogs, toys), from a distance, and for longer periods of time (ie stay).

- Duration: 5 consecutive weeks, 45min per class
- Schedule: Sunday 11:45-12:30
- Vaccines: Proof of base vaccines and Bordetalla are required
